My name is Kelsi Homan (McClaflin) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who just opened a new practice in Dilworth this summer! (also a DGF alumna!) I have been a counselor for over six years, gaining extensive experience while working for a local non-profit where I supported clients aged 0–65+ from diverse backgrounds (economically, culturally, etc.) in the office, home, group, and school (Hawley, Kindred, and Northern Cass) settings!
I am located right on Highway 10 in front of Axis Clinicals. At Nourished Mind, my target demographic for services is ages 6–25, offered both in-office and via telehealth. I have daytime and evening availability to best support families' schedules. I am open and comfortable working with a variety of issues, including but not limited to; anxiety, life transitions, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and ADHD. I am trained in the brain-spotting model as well.
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management through telehealth in Minnesota and North Dakota, with in-person appointments also available in Fargo, ND.
I recognize that accessing child and adolescent psychiatric care can sometimes be challenging. Families may encounter 2–4 month wait times or longer when seeking an appointment, and many psychiatric practices primarily offer appointments during traditional Monday–Friday daytime hours. For students struggling with mental health or behavioral concerns, these delays can be particularly difficult.
To help improve access, I offer evening and Sunday appointments, allowing students to receive psychiatric care without necessarily having to miss school or other important weekday activities. Telehealth also allows families to receive care from home, which can be especially helpful for families who live outside larger communities.
Students who may benefit from a psychiatric referral
I may be a helpful referral option for students experiencing concerns such as:
ADHD symptoms or concerns about possible ADHD
Anxiety or excessive worry
Depression or persistent sadness
Mood changes or emotional dysregulation
Difficulty with concentration, attention, or functioning at school
Sleep difficulties related to mental health
Significant changes in behavior, motivation, or functioning
Medication evaluation or management for an existing psychiatric diagnosis
Students who are already participating in therapy but may benefit from a psychiatric evaluation or medication-management consultation
I provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessment, medication management when appropriate, and ongoing follow-up care. I work collaboratively with families and other members of a student's care team when appropriate and with the necessary releases of information.
