About Mrs. Sanders

Welcome 4th Grade students and parents. I can't tell you how excited I am to begin another school year here at Pierce Downer. I would love to share a little bit about myself.

I am a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a concentration in Mathematics. I truly value education, and I am very passionate about always looking for new ways to make my teaching more exciting and fun for my students. In the winter of 2016, I completed my Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning and I officially graduated in December. I plan on going for my second Master's Degree very soon.

I have to say.....I am SO excited about teaching 4th Grade! I have had such an amazing experience here at Pierce Downer, and every year gets better and better. What a fabulous community to be a part of!

In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, running, reading, going to Cubs Games, singing, scrap-booking, writing poetry, and spending time with my friends and family. My absolute favorite time spent, is that with my husband Ken, our 14 year old son, Gavin, our 11 year old son Avery, and our 6 year old son, Kenny. Our family wouldn't be complete without our 7 year old dog, Rizzo.

I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you (4th Graders and parents). This is going to be another wonderful school year. Thank you for sharing it with me!
