Our art class motto...
"Put your HEART into art!!!!"
A= Artists look, listen, sketch, and then create art
R= Respect themselves and other people.
T=Take care of materials and use them safely.
I love the theme of "Put your heart into art" because it allows all students to understand my expectation.
Students learned what A R T stands for in the art room.
Spotlight on... looking at the world around you!!
Try putting down your technology and really looking at nature, your family, and life happening all around you.
Children can be guided to playfully look at trees, leaves, textures, smells, sounds, colors, images, architecture, and all the fantastic parts of our world. Go to a museum or zoo. Take a walk and compare what you find. Collect leaves. Draw and sculpt.
We have an art room pet, Mr. Chameleon, who likes to hide in the art room.
The students use their eyes to find him... like we use our eyes to look around the artwork.
