About Me

Hi!  I am Kate Blackburn, the Speech-Language Pathologist at Kingsley School.  Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!  I am thrilled to be in my 12th year here in District 58!  I'm excited to be at Kingsley again this year!  

I attended Illinois State University for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees.  (Go Redbirds!) I live in Bolingbrook with my husband, 5.5 year old daughter named Harper (who just started kindergarten!), 3.5 year old daughter named Callie, and 8 year old puppy named Dexter.  As a family, we love being outside: going for walks, playing at the park, and going to the zoo.  This summer I've been working hard in my garden and have made so many cucumber salads and zucchini recipies (the Zucchini Cake was the best!).  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exercising, listening to audiobooks, taking pictures, and relaxing!  I also love traveling, although it's tough with 2 little ones.  Other fun facts about me are that my favorite colors are turquoise and lavender, my favorite animal is a penguin, and I'm a Cubs fan!
