About Me

Hi!  I am Kate Blackburn, the Speech-Language Pathologist at Kingsley School.  Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!  I am thrilled to be in my eleventh year here in District 58!  I'm excited to be at Kingsley again this year!  In previous years in the district,  I have  also worked at Indian Trail and O'Neill as well as with itinerant preschool kiddos.  While I loving working with students of all ages, I am happy to be working with elementary students this year!

I attended Illinois State University for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees.  (Go Redbirds!) I live in Bolingbrook with my husband, 4.5 year old daughter named Harper, 2.5 year old daughter named Callie, and 7 year old puppy named Dexter.  As a family, we love being outside: going for walks, playing at the park, and going to the zoo.  This summer I've tried my hand at gardening and am in the process of propagating some plants.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exercising, taking pictures, and relaxing!  I also love traveling, although it's tough with 2 little ones.  Other fun facts about me are that my favorite colors are turquoise and lavender, my favorite animal is a penguin, and I'm a Cubs fan!
