Where do we practice?
Meet inside the gym during the practice time listed on the team calendar.
Construction at Herrick means we will be switching up our practice locations each day. We will run on the DGN track for morning practices.
What do you wear to practice?
Your PE shirt and shorts or school dress code appropriate running shorts for afternoon practices. During morning practices you can wear any type of running clothes

What do we do at a typical practice?
Practice begins with a warm up and running drills.
Each day brings a different focus: endurance, speed, hills, teamwork, racing, recovery.
We end practice with a team stretch.
What happens when practice is over?
There is no activity bus after practice. You must have a ride home after practice. If you walk to school or ride a bike to school, you can walk home or ride your bike home.
What happens during morning practice?
Arrive at the DGN track dressed in your running clothes and shoes.
Bring something to eat for breakfast after practice and a change of clothes and shoes for the school day (shoes and socks can get wet from the morning dew on the grass!).
We practice until 7:30. If you are in early bird band, choir, or orchestra, you will be allowed to go to the locker room to change and eat breakfast in order to make it to your class on time.
If you are not in band, choir, or orchestra, you will eat breakfast and go to the locker room to change.
How can I get ready for cross country season during the summer?
Begin running throughout the summer.
