Welcome to 3F! I know that we are going to have a fabulous year! I am so thankful that this year will be more "normal"! I cannot wait to go on this 3rd grade adventure with all of you! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been teaching for 24 years, one year in second grade and the rest in third grade. I have a fabulous son named James, who just turned 10 on August 20 and is heading into fourth grade this year, as well as a delightful daughter named Sophie, who is 7 years old. She is starting second grade this year. I love to read, shop for shoes, bake, watch football, go for walks, and learn new things. I wish I could say that I love to cook, but I am not a wonderful cook at all, but I am practicing more every week! However, my favorite activity is playing with James and Sophie Girl and taking oodles of pictures of my angels! I am married to Mr. Freitag, who is also a teacher. He teaches art at an elementary school in Palatine.
I absolutely love teaching and I love how every day is new and unique. In my classroom I want my students to be happy, feel safe, successful, and feel that they fit into our 3F family. That is what we are in my classroom, a family. I want the students to treat each other with respect, practice kindness, and make smart choices by doing the right thing everyday. Every student is responsible for their own actions and decisions. I want students to understand that hard work will lead to positive results! I really try to encourage every student to go the extra mile. One of my favorite quotes is, "Go the extra mile, it is never crowded!" Everyday I learn new things from my students!
I see this school year as being one that we will not soon forget! I ensure that I will do my very best to keep everyone safe and follow all of the safety protocols that our district has in place. We will do this! I look forward to working with all students and parents to ensure success!
