You should never unplug any power or ethernet cords, or push any buttons on the indoor WiFi Router. If you are doing this to try to fix the internet yourself; STOP! This process is WRONG and can lead to devices losing WiFi connections, not being rebooted properly, or programming on the devices being erased, that can lead to a billable service call that could have been avoided.
Verify the Connection. Meaning, if you have a device not working. Check to see if any other devices on your Network or WiFi are working on the Internet. If they are, it may just be a specific device that is having WiFi or Internet issues.
Most installations have both your indoor WiFi Router/Access Point and Outdoor Modem plugged into the same surge protector, in that case turn the surge protector off for at least 5 minutes, then turn it back on. Give the system about 1 minute to boot and connect to the tower before trying the internet.
