While the work of the Katarokwi Indigenous Research Collaborative is centered in the Katarokwi region, insight from research findings may be useful for other Indigenous communities in Turtle Island. In turn, insight from Indigenous health research in other regions may be useful for addressing data and advocacy needs in Katarokwi. To enhance relationships with other Indigenous health researchers and other Indigenous communities in Canada, we have built a collaborative relationship with the Alberta-based Indigenous Primary Health Care and Policy Research Network (IPHCPR).

Insight from Katarokwi-based research was featured in the following 2025 IPHCPR podcasts (click on links to view):
1) "Mentorship, listening and learning in practice"
Dr. Amrita Roy discusses how researchers develop the skills needed to work in Indigenous health contexts, including listening, humility, and openness to correction. She describes learning as a relational process shaped through engagement with communities and adapting to community governance and expectations over time.
2) "Indigenous health system evaluation"
Dr. Amrita Roy outlines community-driven projects focused on Indigenous approaches to health system evaluation. This includes work on culturally relevant indicators, implementation of culturally safe practices, and understanding Indigenous participation in governance and system transformation.
3) "Accountability and system change"
Drs. Amrita Roy and Rita Henderson discuss the gap between consultation and action in health systems. They reflect on the lack of guidance and resources available to both Indigenous partners and system leaders, and the role of networks in supporting alignment, accountability, and sustained system change.
