BiOrangePack consortium comprises 14 partners (9 public research institutions, 4 private industrial companies and 1 association of citrus producers and traders) from 6 countries.
The University of Catania is the coordinator of the project. Prof. Olga Cacciola, Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (DI3A), leads the BiOrangePack project.
The consortium involves five major citrus-producing countries of the Mediterranean region, including the two main citrus-producing EU-countries (Italy and Spain), the two major citrus exporters (Spain and Turkey), two North-African dynamic and expanding citrus producers (Algeria and Tunisia), the leading EU-country producing organic citrus fruits (Italy) as well as the main importer EU-country of citrus fruit (France).
