March is Women’s Month and the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane is featuring twelve emerging Filipina artists, all under the age of 40.

For its theme, the Embassy chose to juxtapose the “male gaze”, which refers to the tendency of images of women to be mediated by a masculine eye, against the "female gaze" and how young women see themselves today.

This exhibition contains twenty pieces: five pieces depicting the “male gaze” and fifteen pieces from the "female gaze". The exhibit includes paintings, sculptures, an assemblage and, in keeping with the times, an NFT.
