30 APRIL 2025, VIENNA – Filipino favorites Kaldereta and Taho drew a steady stream of visitors to the Philippine Mission booth at this year’s United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) International Luncheon at the Vienna International Center. The Philippine Permanent Mission in Vienna participates in this annual event to promote Filipino culinary culture and support UNWG’s charitable events.

The Filipino beef stew known as kaldereta and beloved delicacy taho made with silken tofu, tapioca pearls (sago), and brown sugar syrup (arnibal) both sold out quickly, with guests availing of multiple servings. Other participating countries included Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, United States, Russia, Turkey, Thailand, Japan, Mongolia, Bangladesh and India. 

The UNWG International Luncheon is one of several annual fundraising events actively supported and attended by Permanent Missions in Vienna. Held each spring, this event showcases national specialties and culinary highlights from around the world. END.
