28 May 2026, Bratislava – The Philippines expanded commercial engagement with Slovak companies during EXIMBANKA SR’s Export Club Southeast Asia Forum in Bratislava, strengthening business links and exploring new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

In her presentation, Ambassador Evangelina A. Bernas outlined areas for potential cooperation with Slovak companies in sectors such as automotive, semiconductors, manufacturing, and sustainable technologies. She also highlighted the Philippines’ strategic location within ASEAN, its young and competitive workforce, and expanding trade and investment opportunities. TShe likewise noted reforms aimed at improving the business environment, the Philippines' continued access to the European Union's GSP+ scheme, and progress in negotiations toward a Philippines–EU Free Trade Agreement. 

The forum also enabled direct engagement with Slovak companies through its business-to-government (B2G) activity and Mini Expo, where firms from the defense, manufacturing, logistics, and technology sectors expressed interest in the Philippine market.

The growing interest from Slovak companies builds on recent economic exchanges between the two countries, including a Philippine business mission to Slovakia in 2024. A Slovak business delegation is also expected to visit the Philippines later this year.

Organized by EXIMBANKA SR in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Export Club is an annual business forum that connects Slovak exporters with opportunities in priority international markets through country presentations, expert discussions, and direct engagements with foreign government and business representatives.
