24 SEPTEMBER 2025, VIENNA - Undersecretary Atty. Alvin Balagbag led a delegation from the Department of Agriculture to undertake a trade and market sensing mission in Austria from 22-24 September 2025.

Undersecretary Balagbag said that the Philippine government is keen to bring the country’s agricultural products to Europe to expand the Philippines' export market. He highlighted that there is an increasing market for Filipino products due to the growing Filipino community in the continent. He expressed hope that there will be more Filipino food products available in Austrian supermarkets.

The delegation met with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and importers to understand the food consumption trends and demands in Austria. They also visited Asian supermarkets and the major supermarkets and discounters in Austria such as Billa, Spar, Hofer, and Lidl. Filipino food manufacturing companies Desmond Farm and Partners, Inc., Eng Seng Food Products, and Deloverges Agri-Farm also joined the DA delegation. END.
