PH EMBASSY CONDUCTS SEMINAR ON FILIPINO WORKERS’ RIGHTS, CONSULAR AND ASSISTANCE OUTREACH IN SLOVENIA
11 JULY 2025, KAMNIK, SLOVENIA. The Philippine Embassy in Vienna rendered consular and assistance-to-nationals (ATN) services, and conducted a post-arrival orientation seminar (PAOS) for overseas Filipino workers in Slovenia on 28 June 2025.
The outreach coincided with the Philippine Independence Day celebration by the Filipino community in Slovenia at the International Picnic Center in Stahovica, Kamnik, 24 kilometers north of Ljubljana.
The PAOS provided the newly arrived Filipinos in Slovenia with an overview of the services and programs of the Embassy, Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Vienna, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Office (OWWA) Milan. A representative of the Employment Services of Slovenia (ESS) likewise presented on workers rights under Slovenian law and the available resources and assistance for migrant workers facing employment and immigration issues.
Embassy services rendered included passport, civil registration, notarials, certifications, and addressing consular inquiries and ATN concerns. Labor- related services were provided by the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Vienna and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in Milan, while Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG representatives provided online consultation services via Zoom.
As of December 2024, there were 413 registered Filipinos in Slovenia. END.
