Biography: Mrs. Broughton is originally from Zeeland, MI, where she discovered her passion for making music. Mrs. Broughton is a pianist and a singer, is the accompanist/assistant director for the DeWitt Community Singers and sings with the Riverbend Singers. In addition to making music, Mrs. Broughton enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Broughton lives in DeWitt with her husband, Ian, and her sons, Kellan and Liam, and her dogs, Nala and Moosie.

Teaching Experience: Mrs. Broughton is in her 24th year of teaching music in DeWitt. She began her career teaching choir at DeWitt High School and DeWitt Junior High. She taught Music and Movement at the Fuerstenau Early Child Center for five years, and has since found her home at Herbison Woods Elementary, teaching 4th and 5th grade students.

Education: Mrs. Broughton graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education. While at MSU, Mrs. Broughton studied piano under the direction of Dr. Midori Koga, and accompanied the MSU Men's Glee Club for seven semesters. It was at MSU where she met her husband, Ian, who also has a passion for music.
