The national flag of the United Kingdom is the Union Jack, also known as the Union Flag. This flag was flown at Waitangi to represent the Queen of England in the treaty partnership.

Also known as 'Te Kara' or 'The Flag of the United Tribes of New Zealand', Te Kara was the first New Zealand flag and is still one of our two official flags. The full name of the flag in te reo Māori is 'Te Kara o Te Whakaminenga o Ngā Hapū o Niu Tireni'. It has also been refereed to as the 'He Whakaputanga flag'.

We are going to use TinkerCAD to create a 3D scene for the first signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
As you saw in the video, the British representatives and the Māori rangatira met in a tent to discuss the treaty signing. In and around this tent there were many flags on display. This is what we are going to recreate.
Two flags that are of great importance are the Union Jack and Te Kara as they represented the two parties British and Māori. The video showed many other flags on display you might like to find out what these were and use them as well.
