Susana Corral, PhD

My name is Susana Corral and I work at the Department of Psychology at the University of Deusto, where I am a lecturer and researcher.

I am a General Health Psychologist, a family mediator and I am specialised in legal and forensic psychology. I am accredited as lecturer in social sciences by UNIBASQ (Agency for Quality of the Basque University System). I am accredited for 2 six-year research periods by the National Assessment Division of the Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte (2007-2012 & 2013-2020).

I am also a member of the research team Deusto FamilyPsych, which looks at family functioning in conflict and crisis, with the aim of investigating the underlying mechanisms associated with psychological well-being and the development of instruments and intervention programmes to prevent or alleviate the effects of those situations.

I received my PhD in Psychology from the University of Deusto in 2006. After that, I moved to London where I worked as a post-doctoral researcher and senior researcher both in academia and nonprofit organisations.

I was a chartered psychologist (Division of Teachers, Researchers and Academics) with the British Psychological Association (BPS) from 2007 to 2013 and am currently a member of the Spanish Psychological Association (Bizkaia).
