I teach Spanish 1 and 2 at North DeSoto High School. The 2023-2024 school year will be my thirteenth year teaching Spanish. I LOVE introducing students not only to the language, but also the culture of the many places where it is spoken. I also sponsor Spanish Club, coordinate Literary Rally, and serve as Lead Teacher of Art, Band, Foreign Language, Physical Education, and JROTC.

I was born in Shreveport, LA. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Centenary College in 2009 and completed the Alternative Teacher Certification Program at Louisiana State University in Shreveport.

I am also a certified group fitness instructor; I teach strength and cycling classes after school and on the weekend. I enjoy the stress relief and social outlet it provides, and I love helping other people achieve their goals. Another major passion of mine is travel. I have visited Mexico, the Bahamas, Honduras, Belize, England, Scotland, Spain, France, Ireland, and Germany. In my downtime, I enjoy playing video games and relaxing with my rescue cat, Olivia Queen.

My major was English and my minor was Spanish. I earned my degree a semester early, and then completed education courses and student teaching. I had no idea at the time that fate would lead me to a career in foreign language!

This cutie is Miss Olivia Queen. She is named after the Green Arrow himself due to her beautiful eyes. I love her, but she is a handful when she's hungry!
