504 Information

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of a disability in any program receiving federal funds. Section 504 states that:

"No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States shall, solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied, the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Social Emotional Learning

DeSoto Parish Schools recognize that effective behaviours systems are a critical component of every school system and schools. We are focused on providing support and resources needed to implement a multi-tiered system of supports for student behavior. This includes, but is not limited to Behavioral Intervention, Social Emotional Learning, and many more. Each school has been trained and are implementing SEL support as needed.

The DeSoto Parish Schools shall be committed to maintaining a safe, orderly, civil, and positive learning environment so that no student feels threatened while in school or participating in school-related activities.
