Pre-Season Training
Pre-Season training is a crucial part of training for all track athletes. Training allows athletes to improve their athletic performance, helps prevent injuries, and provides athletes with the proper training needed to be successful for the upcoming Indoor and Outdoor Track season.
Practice times are 3:30pm to 4:30pm
Training is REQUIRED for all athletes that are NOT involved in a fall/winter sport such as football, soccer, basketball, wrestling, cheer and danceline.
Attendance policy for pre-season training is the same attendance policy for In-season practice.

DAILY PRACTICE TIME AND LOCATION
Practices will be held DAILY!
The Girls Sprinters and Throwers (Not all sprinters/thrower will be in the athletic block) will practice during the athletic block.
The Boys Team, Distance athletes and Jumpers will practice after school from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm unless otherwise scheduled by the coaching staff. Practices are closed to all others except Athletes, NDHS faculty, and Coaches.
Practice will be held outside on the track when weather allows it. When the weather is bad, practice will be held inside the high school.
After practice all athletes must REMAIN out of the school building and Fieldhouse. Please have a ride from practice close to the time practice is over.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
It is required that all athletes come to every practice, meeting, and team function. Some exceptions will be granted on an individual basis, but in general full attendance is expected. If you have a problem attending then it is the student-athlete’s responsibility to notify the appropriate coach. It is not the parent’s responsibility.
If you are going to miss a practice, or have to leave practice early, you must see the coach before practice. This does not mean you tell a teammate.
Excused absence for a practice will be granted for the following reasons: excused absence from school, doctor’s note (injury), family emergency, prior arranged family event, absence granted by coach for special reasons. ALL other absences shall be considered unexcused.
UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
• One unexcused absence may result in missing the next meet or additional conditioning.
• Two unexcused absences – the athlete may not be allowed to attend practice or meets until they meet one-on-one with Coaches to determine whether or not the athlete will be allowed to continue as a team member.
Three unexcused absences (after the meeting with Coaches) may result in being dismissed from the team.
