Course Description: This course is only one Semester and is designed with a practical approach that is made toward speaking that builds confidence and poise. The students present a wide variety of speeches in an informal classroom atmosphere. The format is designed to prepare students for everyday classroom participation as well as for other speaking opportunities. Emphasis in on improved self-confidence and self-expression as speaking, listening, and thinking skills are built. Evaluation is based on performance, criticism, and unit assignments. Some memorization may be required.
