The Fort McMurray Giants are a member of the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) located in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The WCBL is a collegiate summer baseball league that field teams in the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta. The Giants entered the league in 2016 and play at Legacy Dodge Field at The Shell Place complex on MacDonald Island.
We here at Dengenerate Baseball love us some Fort Mac Baseball. We got to catch a game up there in the summer of 2019. The facility and amenities are amazing (better than some A level minor league parks) and at that latitude you really don't need the lights at the park unless it goes into extra innings. Its is, by quite a large margin, the farthest north we've ever cought a baseball game.
We're now on a mission to get an out of conference series / rivalry started between the Giants and our home town DC Grays. Come on guys, its only a 5,088 mile round trip!
