Animation
Nancy’s love of animation lies in the drawing and imagining of characters, along with the art of storytelling.
With over 20 years experience, from leading teams in children’s television production, to designing and animating interactive online campaigns for major brands, Nancy can see your project through from start to finish with fantastic attention to detail. (Head to About to find out more!)
Most recent work has focused on explainer style animations in the public health sector, with co-director Lee Ellis. You can watch these animations and more, at their motion graphics studio, MightyPow.com
Samira's Story
'Samira's story', was created for the launch of the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, in partnership with In Tune for Life.
Due to it's clarity of communication, the video was extremely well received, and has since been translated into many other languages including French, Spanish and Arabic.
Samira's Story explains how keyworkers on the ground make a difference in times of crisis, and how hugely important their work is, thus highlighting the need for continued funding and support from global organisations.
Mary's Story
Commissioned by In Tune for Life and Theatre for Change, Nancy created the short film 'Mary's Story', for the Gender Equality Campaign run in Malawi.
Mary's Story highlights extremely serious issues within the education system and the agony experienced by young girls, who become victims of bribery by those in positions of power and trust.
Animation and design produced in silhouette style by Nancy, to music written by Rudo Chakwera, Luckson Chazima and William Chinsinga.
(Trigger Warning: contains upsetting themes of abuse and loss of life)
Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy
Nancy worked with longtime collaborators “In Tune For Life”, to conceptualise and animate a set of instructional videos, for the Centre for Behavioural Medicine at UCL School of Pharmacy.
The purpose of these videos was to further inform patients on the importance of adhering to their antiretroviral medication.
As well as two versions of the video for Adherence, with male and female character leads, Nancy and Lee produced videos explaining the HIV medication programs for Pregnancy, Side Effects and Resistance.
Explainer animations are always produced with exceptional care to communicate crucial information where language barriers can be problematic.
TB Diagnosis
This short animation is designed to help people produce good sputum specimens for TB diagnosis.
The video was animated with customisable graphics to suit different settings, and is available in over 25 languages worldwide.
Characters were adapted to suit different styles of dress and ethnicity with each new language version.
This video has made a significant difference in patient understanding of what is required to provide a sample adequate for TB testing. It communicates key information with clarity, so that the video can be understood with or without the accompanying audio.
