"Spider-Man 3" Has How Many Titles?

by Dylan Aubry, Staff Writer

With WandaVision streaming in full swing on Disney Plus since January of this year, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is back for the first time since July 2019 when Spider-Man Far From Home was released into theaters. The return of the MCU has had comic book fans everywhere extremely excited to see what happens next and what adventures their favorite heroes will go on. In particular, Spider-Man enthusiasts have been clamoring to get a taste of what’s to come from their favorite web-slinger. With rumors of a live-action spider-verse movie starring both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire alongside Tom Holland, fans have been eagerly awaiting any piece of news to come out of this movie. Well, last week they were met with a rather confusing treat. Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, and Zendaya all took to Instagram to announce the title of the next movie in the MCU’s Spider-Man series. However, there was a problem. They all announced different titles. Tom Holland’s post claimed that the title was Spider-Man Phone Home, while Jacob Batalon and Zendaya’s pages said the film would be called Spider-Man Home Wrecker and Spider-Man Home Slice respectively. This stirred up a lot of confusion within the fandom. Would it be called one of these titles, something different entirely, or for some reason all three of them? All of our questions were soon answered the following morning when it was announced alongside a short little skit between the 3 actors that the movie would in actuality be called Spider-Man No Way Home. This caused fans to finally get some clarity as well as a hint towards what may be to come in the movie. Tom Holland has constantly rejected claims that the movie will feature Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, but it is still unknown if he is telling the truth or simply trying to keep his mouth shut and get rid of his reputation for giving spoilers. Many have pointed out that the title of No Way Home seems to hint that Tom Holland or maybe one of the other Spider-Men will get stuck in another universe without a way to return to their homeworld. Things are yet to be seen and hopefully soon Marvel will release a trailer of some sort that will quench the thirst of all Marvel fans for the time being.
