Bachelorette Nation Hits La Quinta

by Dylan Aubry, Staff Writer

With the crisis that is the COVID-19 pandemic seemingly ruining everything we want to see in the entertainment industry, it would be easy to believe that we wouldn’t see our beloved season of The Bachelorette. But the pandemic isn’t stopping ABC and Bachelor Nation from finding the one for Clare Crawley. The production minds at the show have had the gears in their heads turning since filming was delayed earlier this year. Luckily they have found a solution so that we can all fill the Bachelorette-sized hole in our hearts, and it’s coincidentally taking place right in our backyard. This year, the entire season of the show will be filmed right here in the Coachella Valley. ABC has sent a whole crew and over 40 men to the La Quinta Resort and Club to fight for Clare’s heart. The whole cast and crew was quarantined for two weeks before they were allowed to start filming. Unfortunately, we will not be able to see Chris Harrison at Wal-Mart like we might wish we could, as nobody is allowed to go in or out of the resort in order to keep everything safe for the people working on the show. Who knows how this season will even go? Rumors have been spreading all over the internet that Clare has actually quit the show and will be replaced by Tayshia Adams from Colton’s season of The Bachelor. This is absolutely unheard of and will be sure to have some drama come along with it this upcoming season. In other behind the scenes news, Chris Harrison will end up briefly leaving the show to take his son to college, and re-quarantine. In his absence, former Bachelorette Jojo Fletcher will take over for this brief time. It will be interesting to see how this pans out and maybe this could be a test to see what would happen if Chris Harrison retires at some point. This season is really shaping up to be an interesting one, and with all the working variables and behind the scenes drama, this might just end up being, “the most dramatic season yet”. The Bachelorette season 16 premieres Tuesday, October 13 at 8 p.m.
