Aztec Impact 

The Aztec Impact class (AI) at PDHS is responsible for promoting a healthy and pleasant environment in order to encourage academic achievement and to increase overall attendance. AI members will work individually, in committees, and as a class during second period to reward and incentivize students and staff. Members will plan, create, execute, clean up, and reflect on an end of the year assembly that celebrates academic achievement. Students in AI are campus leaders and as such are expected to set a positive example both on and off campus.

Aztec Impact Awards

• GPA Jump Award: Students who received a GPA of 3.5 or higher in spring semester of 2020, or received a GPA increase of .25 or higher from Fall to Spring semester of the 2019-2020 school year.

• Birthdays: Birthday cards to all Aztecs on their birthday

• H.A.T: H.A.T stands for Homework, Attendance, and Tardies. A second period class with all homework completed, perfect attendance, and no tardies for the day once a week will receive an award and their picture in the newsletter.

• Inspirational Teacher Award: Recognizes teachers who have inspired their students to do well in their academics.

• Department Student of the Month: This award is designed for students who may not receive overall student of the month, but who are doing excellent work in one subject. There are ten different departments on campus and each month every department will select a boy and a girl to receive this award. All teachers have an opportunity to participate in this program. The student may receive a certificate, a t-shirt, a front of the line pass, and their names included in our article, the daily bulletin, and a poster.

• Perfect Attendance: Every month we check to see which students were at school every day that month and we reward them with an encouraging note and a PDHS Aztec pencil acknowledging them for their excellent attendance. We deliver them personally to every student. This number can sometimes reach up to 900+ students in any given month.

• Goodluck Balloons: For one game, competition, or performance per season, each competitor or performer will receive a good luck balloon on the day of their event.
