Special Education Teacher
Welcome! This is my 26th year teaching special education at Dover-Eyota. and 31st year of teaching overall. Before coming to Dover-Eyota, I taught 2 years in Kingman, Arizona and 3 years at Jackson County Central Middle and High School. Before teaching at DE Elementary, I spent 23 years in the DE Middle and High School. The 2025-2026 will be my third year teaching at the elementary school.
Outside of school I love spending time with my family. My family consists of my husband, my daughter, two stepsons, two beautiful daughter-in-laws and three grandchildren. Besides spending time with my family, I also enjoy reading, camping, kayaking and hiking with our dogs. During the winter I enjoy reading, snowshoeing and knitting.
I am a proud pet mom and have three Golden Retrievers. This past summer, I completed my 9th year working with the Olmsted County 4-H Dog Project. Now it is my turn to have some fun! I am starting to do rally obedience with two of our dogs! During the summer I also help to lead mission trips for my church. I have had the opportunity to bring teens to New Orleans, Washington, DC, Kentucky, Roatan, Honduras, Sisseton, SD, Duluth and most recently Milwaukee.
My goal in teaching is to guide students to learn the skills that will make them the best they can be. Those skills may include reading, writing, math, social skills, emotional regulation and many more. I also believe that families and teachers must work together as a team to provide the best support possible for all students!
