Welcome to Kindergarten!!!  I am excited to be starting my 18th year in Kindergarten.  I had previously taught 6th grade in Eyota for nine years.  I enjoyed teaching 6th grade, but I got the itch to try something a little different.  I have enjoyed my switch to kindergarten and look forward to teaching and getting to know your child. 

I have completed my Reading License from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, Winona.  I have also been certified in LETRS and will be implementing many of the reading strategies I learned those classes with the students and parents.  At Kindergarten Orientation I will be sharing with you information about Phonemic Awareness, which is one of the building blocks to reading success.

I live in the rural Stewartville area with my husband, Chris and our daughter.   As a family we enjoy spending time outdoors.  We do a variety of activities from biking to just simply enjoying nature and watching critters on walks in our neighborhood and parks.  I like to take the students outdoors daily at Dover-Eyota Elementary, we are blessed to have great areas close to the school to explore and learn in.
