Now I know what you may be thinking; this is a car assistant that helps you with your day to day activities. You're wrong. This car does help us, but not in the way you think. The Friendly Car will be the first coordinated car system to be implemented to an entire major city. The Friendly Car is entirely green and has no form of energy, other than your legs. This car is in the shape of an oblique rectangular prism (see diagram below). The method of movement is similar to the one used by a bicycle. You pedal, and the car moves. Every car in the same lane is attached by magnets. If you need to turn at an intersection, you click a double disconnect button that is located on the panel along with the steering wheel. Every car is connected, so when a car senses another car entering their lane, they will disconnect from the car in front of them and allow the car to enter the lane. When you reach a traffic light, the person at the front of the line will click a single disconnect button (also located on the panel), which disconnects that car from the car in front of it, allowing that car to continue in the line. The cars are also connected to the traffic lights, and the traffic lights do not allow the cars to go until the lights are green, and all the cars are out of the road. The fact that the cars are connected and there is protection from the traffic lights ultimately eliminates car accidents. Because there is no car exhaust, there are no carbon dioxide emissions. This product would be a huge help to start the reduction of carbon emissions. This product is our first step in our first project, Project Carbon.
