About Me

I am Mr. Ayer, teacher in the DHS English Department. 

The 2025-2026 year will be my 21st at Deptford and my 24th teaching.  I originally hail from New England and bring with me a diverse outlook on life, teaching, and English Language Arts.  This school year I am teaching all Seniors. The Seniors focus primarily on World literature covering a range of diverse literature from ancient and sacred texts to philosophy and drama. I also coach Cross Country (and not too long ago stepped aside from years of Winter and Spring Track) and supervise Musical Stage Crew and A/V Club among the many hats I wear here at DHS.
