People's lives were so different. In 1st grade through 3rd Vincent bullied Sawyer. Ilia and Hayden went to the same school but didn't know each other very well. Sophie was still in Manitowoc. Back then everything was so different.

In 6th grade, Vincent became friends with Sawyer over their love of anime. Sawyer was also in another friend group at the same time, "The Wolf Pack". every other day Sawyer would play with them instead of Vincent. Eventually, Vincent Joined the group, even though he could never catch up with anyone. That is where Vincent, Hayden, Ilia, and Sawyer all became friends.

Things were going great in the friend group. We gained a new member, Liam! Many "VIncidents" happened like MMM (Milk,Mustard, and mayonnaise). and the Liam and Hayden ones. Yikesssss...

But the Friend group always made it through.

9/1/2022 - 5/2/2022

on May 3rd, 2022 Vincent was sick at home and sent Liam a text with a picture of Vincent in a hospital bed attached... the message read  "I got st@bbed". Liam, terrified for his friend, showed this to the entire group. Little did they know it was all just some stupid prank set up by Vincent. the rest of the group was mad but not as much as Liam. For months Vincent and Liam didn't talk, or play together, and it seemed that their friendship was over... but over that summer their friendship was rekindled. and Luke was removed from the friend group, because of an argument.

5/3/2022

For an entire year, things were normal. Everyone stayed together, everyone had a strong friendship. there was Pine, Cheese Sh@rt, the famous (or infamous for vincent) Benny vs Green Bean debate... The group was fine and everything ran smoothly.

Then came 2024- freshman year. A year that would soon be Infamous in both the Yellow Staircase and the Devious Dowgs.

A few weeks prior to the End of the Yellow Staircase, the Connor Incident happened. Someone added Connor to the group chat, and people began to argue because of his attitude. he continually talked about how he was a "lost cause" and was having sewer residal thoughts. Somehow, through all of the obstacles, the friend group managed to survive and stay together. Unfortunately, what the group didn't know was that this would be setting up the end of the yellow staircase.

10/29/2024-11/20/2024

Everyone knew that ever since The Connor Incident, tensions had been high. But on December 5th, 2024, The TRUE End of the Yellow Staircase began.

On December 4th, the night before it ended, about half of the members of the Yellow Staircase got into an enormous fight over Discord. While a few members either chose to stay out of it or had no idea it was happening, the argument still had a devastating effect on every member's relationships with one another and their mental health. Soon the argument transferred from Discord over to google chat, where anyone involved decided to pick sides-except for 2.

While the rest of the Yellow Staircase fought and argued over Google Chat, Vincent and Ilia made a promise to not take sides and to stay friends no matter what happened. And soon it became obvious that this was the best choice to make. By the end of the day on the 5th, multiple members were talking about leaving the Yellow Staircase, unable to be in a group with the same people they had such high tensions with. However, even though the odds were against them, a few members began to put in one final, last-ditch effort to pick up the pieces and fix the Yellow Staircase, this time for good.

 Although everyone had remained friends, tensions were too high for people to continue to be in 1 group. By the Last Day, it was clear there was only 1 choice.

On December 8th, 2024, The Yellow Staircase had officially ended. The day before 3 members had officially left, leaving the remaining members with the realization that it was truly over. That day, the Yellow Staircase made its final Document: the Yellow Staircase End Game Screen (yes, weird name, I know.) After almost 3 years of friendship, it was over.

The next day, The Yellow Staircase website was finalized and released to the group one last time- a preserved history of everyone and everything the Yellow Staircase has made.
