What the AD expects from the Coach:
Make each season to be an exceptional experience for our student-athletes.
Trust that you are a professional and have the best interest of the school & students in mind.
Collaborate with & support fellow head coaches and athletic & activitiies programs at De Pere.
Be organized (practice, game day, equipment, documents, budget, travel, awards, etc.)
Communicate effectively (you are the activities departments direct line to students/families)
Cell: 330-432-7403 (text if needed immediately or for game updates)
School: 920-337-1020 ext. 4012 (email for non-immediate needs but a 24 hr response)
What the Coach expects from the AD:
Unwavering Support of the coach, their decisions related to the program, and the program itself.
Trust that all decisions about the program or the department are made with positive intentions.
Enhance the coaches efforts to create an exceptional experience for players and coaches.
Be organized (WIAA/FRCC information, schedules, game day ops, etc.)
Communicate Effectively (schedules, updates, grade checks, code violations, etc.)
What the Coach expects from the Student-Athletes:
You can and should create your own set of expectations and communicate them verbally (pre-season meeting) and written (program expectations). I trust each coach to develop and uphold those expectations and that the AD will support that effort.
Next Coaches Meeting is August 12, 2026 in the DPHS Community Room
Evaluations are a discussion of the truth that the coach, players, and AD see in the season. We firmly uphold that “truth is meant to be helpful and not hurtful,” and will use the evaluation discussion and results of player surveys to improve ourselves and our programs. The new evaluation system will be based on the following document:
When making your "one-sheet" for rosters, please include all levels on that sheet.
Make your own or make a copy of a template: 2 Level Template | 3 Level Template
Please also include both trainers, strength coaches, along with an Aurora BayCare logo
You are required to include the official Redbird Logo on your roster (see below for links and downloads). You may use additional approved logos but not old or unapproved logos.
State Law and District policy requires that (for your protection) coaches, advisors, staff, etc. Do not use text messages as a means of communicating with students/student-athletes.
SportsYou is the platform DPHS Coaches are asked to consider using
Preferred provider by WIAA
Your team already has a SportsYou set up. Please contact the AD to be assigned as an administrator.
Can use email to communicate as well (i.e. football & volleyball weekly reminders)
Form: Please complete this form for all of your early release requests. This information will be sent to the staff with the click of a button! It also gets added to an early release calendar automatically! Feel free to fill this out as far in advance as you would like!
Bussing: Thank you for getting your dates in! Just an FYI, we have had issues with Lamers changing times on us and not communicating. Kerry will keep our information up-to-date and you can always check with her to confirm times.
Coaches at each level are encouraged and expected to regularly announce game results through the school’s daily announcements. Announcements are composed around 7:45 a.m. each school day morning. Contact Lea Ann Allen prior to 7:45 a.m. the day following a contest in order to get your results posted. She can be contacted by email lallen@depere.k12.wi.us, or phone 337.1020. Email is the preferred method. Send first and last names of students. Last names can be posted in school, but not on web. Lea Ann will modify as needed.
Announcements regarding practice changes and cancellations can be handled through Lea Ann Allen as well. She can be contacted using the above information.
I will (try to) send out Activities Updates to staff biweekly. If you want something included in their other than simple results let me know via email
Click here are the dates for grade checks, academic reengagement, and ineligibility
Students may not have any failing grades or a GPA below 1.5 in a quarter.
A student not meeting this criteria will be ineligible for activities for fifteen (15) consecutive scheduled school days and nights.
The ineligibility will begin on the fifth (5th) scheduled school day following the end of the first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) quarter which allows for a grace period for grade changes and removal of any incomplete grades.
To regain eligibility, a student must complete a grade check with the Activities Director on the fifteenth (15th) school day after the declaration of ineligibility.
A student who is ineligible due to failing grades, will continue to practice, but may not return to competition - until the SCHOOL DAY FOLLOWING the fifteen (15) day ineligibility period.

Please share this document with your coaching staff!
WIAA: Reminder that ALL coaches have to watch the WIAA videos and complete the quiz with accuracy prior to the start of competition (and really should before practices start to CYA)
If your coaches need their Login, their username is their email and the Password is most likely Redbirds1 unless they changed it.
The athletics department does not have cameras or other audio-visual equipment. It is strongly recommended that the program find money to purchase its own equipment. The De Pere High School library may have some equipment available for check-out on a limited basis. Contact Jill Pearson, jpearson@depere.k12.wi.us.
All events in the gymnasium, Nowak Field, & Cloud Field will be broadcast on the De Pere HudlTV Channel using the Hudl Focus camera.
WIAA events cannot be livestreamed without purchase of licensing
There are times we will sell the rights to our broadcast to outside entities
If your sport wants to use a specific media provider for broadcasting, please let the Activities Director know as soon as possible to begin contract negotiations. Do not agree to anything with outside companies until you have discussed with the Activities Director.

WIAA Document Please share this document with the student-athlete.
It should be returned to you, then delivered to me. At which point I will contact the family and let them know if they are approved or denied.
Student-Athletes are permitted two Non-School In-Season competitions per season. They must be approved by you and by me prior to the event.
Failure to gain approval or participating in more than 2 competitions makes the student-athlete ineligible (applies to all levels: V, JV, & JV2)
Contact Jere or Kerry for all of your facility requests
Please show gratitude and flexibility to our buildings and grounds team that work so hard to prepare great venues for our student-athletes.

I'm working with Pam in the District Office to make a more straightforward, yet comprehensive, visual branding system to help guide our coaches.
When completed you will be able to find all of the approved (and eventually trademarked) marks in this Google Folder of logos for the Redbird (Primary), DP (Secondary), Rowdie (Tertiary & Activity Specific), Official Wordmarks, other items.
Please do not copy and paste from a google search! Use these marks.
I’ve included all of the approved logos but if you need a different or adjusted version please let me know and I can help
Check with the AD for your allocated amount
Begin the process of designing & ordering at the completion of your season the year before ordering.
When designing/purchasing Uniforms:
Preferred to use “DE PERE” on road uniforms and “REDBIRDS” on home
Activities with only one uniform may use either
Use of secondary/alternate marks is allowed but the official Redbird logo must be used on the uniform somewhere.
Activities that require two sets of uniforms must use White (Light) and either Red or Black (Dark) as the primary uniform color.
Activities with only one uniform must use Red, Black, or White.
Alternate uniforms may use approved secondary colors which are currently Yellow, Grey, and Pink.
Final uniform design must be approved by the Activities Director before payment is made. Any team failing to follow these procedures will not be compensated for their purchase and may result in disciplinary actions.
