• HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL


  • San Vicente Elementary School is located within and named after a barangay popularly known as Barangay San Vicente in Quezon City, where it is found. It is an urban public non-central elementary school. This school offers Basic Education Program and serves the school children mainly residents of the said barangay. It started with about 100 pupils in classrooms to its establishment in 1984.

  • It underwent major construction and physical improvement under the leadership of Mrs. Rebecca S. Rivera. It includes the construction of 2-storey Belmonte Building, school grounds, covered stage and path walks, repair and construction of deep well, and installation of window grills for security purposes.

  • Due to its continuous increase in enrolment, a 10-classroom Bagong Lipunan and 6-classroom Gabaldon/Nalgu Bldg. were made during school years 1983 and 1997 respectively. Then, a 3-classroom Marcos building was built to address the need of classroom shortage in SY 1999-2000. Despite the claims and petitions made by the UP management to stop the school’s expansion, additional 9-room Daza Bldg. was erected and inaugurated in 2004 under the leadership of the late Principal Mrs. Felisa A. Beran.

  • A head teacher was assigned for better management and supervision from SY 1975 to 1984. Among the head teachers who directly supervised the school were; Mrs Editha Mendoza, Mrs. Soledad Doctor, Mr. Perfecto Manansala, Jr., Mrs. Nel Madarang, Mrs. Leonarda Fabila, and Mrs. Escarlita Bandong.

  • The school leadership was then transferred to Mrs. Corazon C. Rubio, as school head, who assumed the administrative position for short time in 1984, but later promoted to higher positions, then became the Assistant Division Superintendent of Quezon City, and now, the Schools Division Superintendent. More principals came in and everyone did his/her best until they’re promoted to higher positions, the school continued its mission to provide basic quality education. Some of those who were also assigned here were Mrs. Lilia S. Recto, Mrs. Estelita Obillo, Mrs. Rebecca S. Rivera, Mrs. Paulina F. Platon, Mr. Dionisio B. Villapando, Mrs. Felisa A. Beran, Mrs. Emely M. Pellobello, and Mr. Victoriano T. Tumampil, Dr. Rosalito R. De Roda, and Julio R. Villapa who took over last July 1, 2013 to present.

  • The District Supervisors, who were assigned in this district were; Ms. Flordeliz Morales, Miss Lorna Diccion, Dr. Pacita C. Manga, Mrs. Darna C. Dimaya, Mr. Juan C. Obierna and Dr. Mercuria Ganaden, the present district supervisor.

  • Each of them contributed much to the improvement of the school with the support of the teaching staff and the PTA in general through the years not only in terms of academic achievement but also in the improvement of its facilities.

  • It started from 3-room building in 1975, it has now 4 buildings with 33 instructional classrooms and 6 function rooms utilized as principal’s office/EMIS, clinic/ guidance, library/ICT/ALS, canteen/feeding, property, laboratory and Home Economics room,& Conference Room.

  • The school facilities have improved to meet the needs of the children and the teachers, as well. Teaching and non-teaching staff and the PTA extended support to meet the needs of the learners, and the teachers, as well. Everyone has been a contributor in enhancing the pupils’ talents & potentials.
