School History

San Francisco Elementary School was a one-storey school building which catered to learners coming from different remote parts of the town namely: Bago Bantay, Diliman, Matalahib and Kaingin.

Its first principal-teacher in 1929 was Mr. Alfredo Ramirez, and the first Parent-Teacher Association was organized by the late Councilor Severino Felipe, Sr.

The primary school building was reconstructed on a piece of land donated by San Francisco Subdivision to San Juan Del Monte in 1934. That same year, a complete elementary school came about and the first grade six graduation was held in 1937.

The Jose Rizal bust in front of Gabaldon main building was erected by the Purok Bagong Buhay in 1955. It was then called the Main School because it had annexes- Damayan, Dalupan, Masambong, Paltok and Sinagtala. In 1964, these annexes became independent schools, under one principal, Mr. Jose Y. Tuason, who became Secretary of Education during the Garcia administration.

San Francisco Elementary School is located in Barangay Del Monte, Quezon City, with an area of 5,023 sq. meters. The Gabaldon building which was completed in 1936 is now one of the oldest, yet, still serviceable school building in the city.

The school’s ideal location and accessibility are the main reasons why pupils from nearby barangays still flock to enroll here every year.
