1. QCSHS Curriculum
DECS Order No. 69, s. 1993 stipulates that a science high school has an enriched science, mathematics, and English curriculum to respond to the nature of such a school that caters to the more intellectually promising students. As such, Quezon City Science High School offers add-on subjects (Grades 7 - 10) and special interest subjects (Grades 9 and 10) on top of the minimum requirements set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum. In SY 2022-2023, QCSHS began the implementation of the Revitalized QCSHS Curriculum in the Grade 7 and Grade 8 levels.
2. When was Quezon City Science High School created? Who created it?
QCSHS was inaugurated on September 17, 1967. According to the revised history of the school speared headed by Miss Mildred Legaspi, it was in 1963 when the idea of having a special science high school was conceived by then Division Science Supervisor Mrs. Hermenihilda G. Margate.
3. How is it related to other Science High Schools?
All regional science high schools offer the same curriculum, hence it can accept lateral transfer from other regional science high schools. It does not accept students from the regular science high school because of differences in some subject offerings.
4. How does it differ from other science high schools? What does it have that others do not have?

7. Research
Research is a way of life at Quezon City Science High School. It is embedded in all learning areas, and the learners understand that it is crucial in their future role in the community to improve the quality of life. Learners choose topics from a wide array of areas such as biological sciences and health, computer and technology, engineering, physical sciences, and chemistry. Research advisers who specialize in the said fields guide the learners, along with external consultants who are practitioners in their fields of expertise. Scientians confidently present their research projects in school-based research fairs to inter-school research fairs, at times even publishing in refereed journals. The best and most groundbreaking research projects have also been recognized nationally and internationally.
8. Why are we now implementing 12 years of basic education?
The Philippines is the last country in Asia and one of only three countries worldwide with a 10-year pre-university cycle (Angola and Djibouti are the other two).
A 12-year program is found to be the best period for learning under basic education. It is also the recognized standard for students and professionals globally.
9. How will K to 12 affect the college curriculum?
The College General Education curriculum will have fewer units. Subjects that have been taken up in Basic Education will be removed from the College General Education curriculum.

General Questions
What is the SHS Voucher Program?
