From a grassy, ordinary, barren place turning into a highly regarded and most visited area has now become the paragon of excellence where different learners flocked in pursuit of their ambitions implanted in this learning institution.
This inhabited place is now the site of the youngest high school institution in Quezon City—JUDGE FELICIANO BELMONTE SR. HIGH SCHOOL. It is the newest, yet the cradle of most competitive students and teachers in any field of competitions. But how did this institution exist?Accordingly,it is through the feat in a battle against piles of struggles.
June 10,2008, the school first operated with a total population of 1,623 students,687 from first year,409 from second year,336 from the third year and 191 from the fourth year. Fourteen permanent and twenty-one auxiliary teachers were assigned in this school headed by Officer-in-Charge, Dr.Agapito T. Lera,a former head teacher from Batasan National High School.
The school was wholeheartedly established due to the insistent clamor from the residents of Brgy. Holy Spirit.Due to their pleads, the Quezon City Government through Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., purchased a 5,000 square meter property along AFP Road, Barangay Old Balara now Barangay Holy Spirit,the site of the new high school,which benefits 330,000 residents of the said barangay and its adjoining communities.
The school is named after Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr., who was during his time, an epitome of an honest and well-respected public servant and a dedicated family man.
The newly established school was an annex of Holy Spirit National High School, which is located at Sto.Ireneo St.Doña Juana Ext.Brgy.Holy Spirit Quezon City,headed by Zaida M. Padullo.
Since this is just an annex school, it operated without financial resources which became the predicament of the school. But through the efforts of school administrators and collaboration of the faculty and staff ,with the support of the barangay officials ,local government officials and some individuals who believe in the capability and competence of our students, it was able to survive.
On January 28,2009,after more than seven months of operation, Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr.High School has gained its independence. The shortest in the history of separation of an annex school from its mother school.
As of now,Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr.High School continuously building its name in society through excelling in various school activities. The school is notable for its well-disciplined studentry under the strict rules and regulations implemented inside the school premises , it is well-commended for its clean environment and peace and order management. Students who were at risk in pursuing their studies were given the privilege to continue their studies through a noble program created by the school called Sagip Hinto sa Pag-aaral.One hundred twenty two beneficiaries from different year levels are enjoying the benefits by giving them weekly allowance.
On its fourth year of operation, the school is expecting to produce globally competitive graduates who will take part in nation building with one hundred twenty three teachers. Through the dynamic leadership and collaboration of school administrators,staff,teachers and students in connection with community linkages who in one way took initiative, the school has transformed into a progressive institution.
