HISTORY

Culiat Elementary School

Culiat Elementary School was founded in 1948 under the administration of the then barrio captain. What started out from two small classrooms now has grown into a big school with four 2-4 storey buildings. It stands on a 1,781 square meter piece of land owned by the Department of Education.

Located inside San Antonio Homes which is a small subdivision, one can easily reach the school by riding a jeepney to the gate of the subdivision and walking or riding a tricycle the rest of the way to the school. According to the principal, Culiat Elementary School is where children from the squatter’s area attend school. Being a school for poor children has not stopped Culiat Elementary School from reaping many awards. The students, in fact, said in the interview that they are proud of their school. They are also happy that they have a beautiful and clean school environment.
