PCEHS WELCOMES S.Y. 2022-2023
PCEHS welcomes all learners in the very first limited face-to-face class, Monday, August 22, 2022 after a 2-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Set A and Set B students attended their classes as scheduled to avoid over-crowded classrooms much more to ensure safety precautions according to the IATF health protocols for Covid 19.
August 22 to October 31 was the agreed schedule for the limited face-to-face classes in accordance to DepEd Order 34 of the Department of Education (DepEd), s. 2022 issued by the Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte .All public and private schools in the country are ordered to switch to five-day face-to-face classes starting November 2.
PCEHS has prepared for this opening salvo. All the gates of the school have trained guards to monitor and ensure the application of the necessary health protocols as learners and school staff comes in and out of the school premises.
The following must be observed: wearing of face mask all the time; checking of body temperature; sanitizing using alcohol and the hand washing area near the gate; observing proper social distancing with in the school premises and the classroom. Classroom advisers were diligent in the instructions and reminders about the Do’s and Don’ts regarding the Covid 19 health protocols .
The Department of Education targeted early November for the implementation of full face to face classes where students will attend school full week without schedule or set assigned.

SSG leaders take oath
New school year, new leaders!
Student Supreme Government’s newly elected officers for SY 2022– 2023 took their oath of office before Dr. Felina P. Patagan, Principal II of PCEHS,, last September 15, 2022 at the school’s conference room.
SSG officers ,under the guidance of Mrs. Jocelyn M. Facelo, SSG Adviser, are expected to lead and be a role model not only to all students but the entire community.

Campus Integrity Crusaders vow to promote integrity and social responsibility
Campus Integrity Crusaders vow to promote integrity and social responsibility for PCEHS and the community.
The CIC is a non-partisan school –based youth organization recognized by a secondary or tertiary educational institution duly accredited by the office of the ombudsman
CIC adviser Mr. Jefferson Bergonia with the elected officers and the year level representatives take everyday as a challenge in promoting peace among learners regardless of year level as they started activities like opening the CIC Facebook page for continuous connection and communication as well as service for students specially during the time of pandemic.
On the top of this, CIC is also of service to make sure that he school observes peaceful and smooth transition from the limited face-to-face to the five day face-to-face classes through their off-session “Marshalls on Duty” and the “Bible Verse of the Day“ during flag ceremony on a Monday.

Teachers’ Day celebration up close and personal
PCEHS students celebrated Teacher's Day last October 5, 2022 to October 6, 2022 up close and personal with their class advisers and subject teachers through a simple program;
The celebration was not only an appreciation for all teachers but also a way of honoring them for their contribution in different field in this world.
Teacher’s Day also include culminating activities such as Poster Making Contest, Tiktok POV, Spoken Poetry, DIY Gifts for teachers and Song Writing Contest.

First Quarter Examination excites EASTIANS
Pasay City East High School (PCEHS) students once again had a taste of the face-to-face Periodical Examination on October 26 to October 28, 2022, after two years of online classes and modular learning.
Eastians were excited in taking the First Periodical Examination in their classroom with their classmates and adviser from October 26 to 28, 2022 with their allotted schedules every other day ( Set A/Set B) both for AM & PM sessions
For the past months, learners have inched their ways and adjusted to the face to face mode which proved to be a bit difficult in the beginning ,but through patience , correct perspective and guidance from the teachers and administrators, everything went well.
The FAWN conducts qualifying exams
The FAWN under the supervision of Mrs. Helen G. Dimafelix, Adviser, conducts qualifying examination to encourage learners from Grade 7-10 to be part of the staff of “The FAWN”, the Official School Paper of Pasay City East High school through a battery of test which includes the different categories: News Writing, Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, Science and Health, Sports Writing Editorial Cartooning, and Photojournalism.
All learners who will pass the battery of test shall be joining the pool of writers/scribes for “The FAWN” and shall be trained by the assigned “Teacher-Trainer” per category to support and enhance students/writers’ skills in the field of Journalism, through a cost-effective training.
For this proposal, the Qualifying Examination will be held in the Remedial Reading Room/School Library on September 28 & 29 from 9-11 AM for Grade 7&9 learners and 12:30- 2 PM for Grade 8 & 10 learners.
