The kitchen is the heart of your house or restaurant, the place where your menu comes to life. It is where food is prepared, cooked, and plated and should have list of kitchen tools and equipment to use to perform the work easier in a short period of time.

The interior of a house or office should be cleaned, sanitized and organized regularly to protect each member of the family or worker in the office from bacterial or viral contamination or physical hazards that can cause illness and disease. Likewise, maintenance of conducive environment or workplace for the occupants or workers promotes ease and productivity.

Handicraft, as one of the areas of Home Economics, remains to be a vital part of the learning competencies in the K to 12 Basic Education Program. The knowledge and skills that can be developed in this course can “serve as foundation of entrepreneurial pursuits” (Arribas, 1995).
