SCHOOL HISTORY

Pamarawan High School (PHS) came into being as an extension campus of Marcelo H. del Pilar High School (now Marcelo H. del Pilar National High School) under the supervision of Ms. Rosalina G. Santos, the school principal. It started with the ardent desire of giving equal opportunity to qualify education by then, Barangay Captain Bienvenido Cruz, Mayor Danilo A. Domingo and the late Congressman Teodulo C. Natividad through his House Bill No. 9793.

On August 1992, PHS was officially opened with 56 enrollees and two classrooms which were constructed through the join effort of the late Senator Blass F. Ople, Mayor Domingo and the late Brgy. Capt. Cruz. It was housed in newly acquired land of 1,155.824 square meter situated between the barangay elementary school and the barangay plaza.

Among the pioneering teachers were Mrs. Nora C. Lising, Ms. Evelyn B. Antonino, and Mrs. Teresa Manlapaz. The latter served also as the Teacher-In-Charge. Maintenance and utility works were handled by Mr. Eduardo B. Javier, a bona fide resident of Pamarawan. The first graduation rite was conducted in 1996 with forty (40) graduates at the barangay basketball court.

Since 2003 when PHS started its regular participation in interschool competitions from the division up to the regional level, the school has won in various fields, both in academic and non academic events

Faculty members of PHS are also given due recognition from the division up to the national level for their usual active participation in different seminars and workshops and for exemplifying instructional leadership as demonstration teachers, organizers, facilitators, judges, trainers, and resource speakers in their respective learning area.
