Simoun

He is Crisostomo Ibarra from Noli Me Tangere. He pretended to be dead to come back as Simoun. Simoun is a rich jeweler who wears blue tinted glasses. As the main character, it’s his goal to start the revolution between the Spanish.

Basilio

He is the son of Sisa from Noli Me Tangere. He is a a hard working student and a future medical degree holder. He wants to reach success through education.

Padre Florentino

He is meant to be married but chose to follow his calling for priesthood.

Padre Salvi

He is the director of the Santa Calara convent.

Isagani

He is an idealistic poet and the nephew of Father Florentino. With his idealism, he values his principles above all else.

Kabesang Tales

He is also known as Telesofos Juan de Dios, the leader of Matanglawin. He joined the bandits because he lost his land to the Dominicans.

Juli

She is the youngest daughter of Kabesang Tales.

Paulita Gomez

She is the girlfriend of Isagani.

Doña Victorina

She is a socialite with a desire to imitate the attitudes and actions of the Spanish women. She is also married to Don Tiburcio.

Tandang Selo

He is a deer hunter, broom-maker, and father of Kabesang Tales and grandfather of Tano and Juli. He and Tales were also responsible in taking in Basilio who was then fleeing from the Guardia Civil

Padre Sibyla

He is a Dominican friar that became the vice-rector of the University of Santo Tomas.

Don Custodio

Custodio de Salazar y Sánchez de Monteredondo married a rich woman to be accepted in Manila’s high society. He is a journalist that made a decision for the Academia de Castellano.

Ben-Zayb

He is a writer in El Grito de la Integridad, a Manila Spanish newspaper; Ybañez is his pen name. He often edit his stories in a negative light to make it more compelling.

Padre Irene

He is the opium supplier of Capitan Tiago. He made sure that Basilio would not receive inheritance from Tiago.

Hermana Penchang

She provided Juli has the money to ransom her father.

Hermana Bali

She is the advisor and a mother-figure to Juli.

Macaraig

He owns a multitude of houses allotted to the Spanish Language Academy. He is also the leader of the student association.

Gobernador Heneral

He attains the highest position one can obtain in the Spanish period. This unnamed character served as a caring figure for the Filipinos but his main priority is to serve the Spaniards in the Philippines.
