VRSHS: 20 Years of Quality Secondary Education

HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

Vedasto R. Santiago High School was founded last February 6, 2002 and was given Government Permit No. S-001 s. 2004 last January 15, 2004 with an enrollment of 280 students as an Annex of San Miguel High School. The school was initially headed by an Officer-in-Charge in the person of Mrs. Zenaida C. Trivinio and 6 pioneering faculty members.

Vedasto R. Santiago High School was named after the late Vedasto "Tata Asto" R. Santiago by his sons Engr. Rodolfo R. Santiago(+) and Former Brgy. Capt. Mario R. Santiago who donated the 10,701-square meter lot to fulfill their father's dream to build a neighboring school to cater education to the youth of San Miguel without spending too much for transportation just to attend school in the town proper.

The school's curricular offerings are patterned after the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (RA 10533), which emphasizes students awareness to economic and social development, commitment to acquiring sound and physical and mental capacity and values transformation, which eventually turns the youth into capable and goal-oriented members of society.

The school aims to produce students who would become future leader and who are more equipped with academic know-hows, technical skills as well as emotional and social stability that they would need to become better and more productive citizen.

The school also works cooperatively with the community specially the local government, which has been very supportive of all the school's programs and projects.

The school has continued to promote high standard quality secondary education that had been made possible because of the administrator, teachers, personnel, and the community who have never stopped working together for the accomplishment of a common goal.

Presently, VRSHS is home to about 3,500 learners that form its Junior and Senior High School units under the leadership of Mrs. Elsilda P. Bunagan, School Principal III, and Dr. Shineth C. Novera, Assistant School Principal II for Senior High School.
