We all have dreams, and we dream that one day these dreams will come true. Education is one powerful tool that allows us to fulfil whatever we dream to become one day. Our school, Taysan Resettlement Integrated School (TRIS), encourages our learners not only to dream but to work hard to fulfil those dreams.
TRIS started on January 2007 as a small learning community but with dreams of expanding one day. It was granted the permit to operate on July 8, 2008. The school was founded with the purpose of providing basic education to the displaced school children who were victims of super Typhoon Reming in 2006.
Initially, the school opened for elementary pupils, it was named Taysan Resettlement Elementary School (TRES). In June 2008, a Junior High School was put up and was renamed Taysan Resettlement Integrated School (TRIS) with 100 high school students and 4 teachers. Years later, in consonance with the shift in Educational Curriculum, a Senior High School department was added.
The school population has grown into more than a thousand learners. Currently, we have 66 teachers - 18 elementary, 39 JHS, and 9 SHS - a big leap from the previous numbers.
