Talaba Elementary School has 39 teaching and 6 non-teaching personnel including a Principal II as School Head. It caters to 1,313 learners in basic kinder and elementary level. The teacher ratio is 1:25 for Kindergarten, 1:40 in Primary Level & Intermediate Level. We have eight (8) sections in Kindergarten, fourteen (14) sections from Grades 1 to 3 & thirteen (13) sections from Grades 4 to 6. There is four (4) Master Teachers that supervise and observing classes.
TES teachers also meet the desired competencies based on the IPCRF & OPCRF. These are achieved because of the continues professional growth and development programs of the school through SLAC & In-SeT.
With regard to the reading proficiency of the students, base from the baseline rating of 80.5%, it shows that there was an improvement in the student’s literacy. Many students have improved from frustration level to instructional level and from instructional level to independent level.
In the implementation of face-to-face classes, teaching, non-teaching, and pupils’ health was also monitored. One hundred percent (100%) of teaching and teaching personnel are fully vaccinated white forty-nine (49%) of the pupils are vaccinated. We also monitored the Nutritional Status of our Learners, it shows that 30 (2.51%) learners are severely wasted, 45 (3.77%) are wasted, 1, 073 (89.94%) are normal, 31 (2.60%) are overweight, 15 (1.26%) are obese.
The School Based Management Assessment level of the School is 1.51 or considered under Maturing Level. Learners’ materials have limited in numbers, there are still subject areas that has lack of learning materials.
In terms of school building, we have ___ classrooms and ___ ancillary rooms that are sufficient to cater our pupils. Some of the building also need minor repairs and two (2) of them are for condemnation and one (1) building for demolition.
Stakeholders’ participation is highly priority of the schools. We don’t have sustainable and sufficient stakeholders to help in the implementation of some PPAs. There participation for the co-curricular activities got the most number of participation which is 70%, followed by the assemblies which are 68%, meetings which is 57% and other activities is 38%.
