Solana South Central School was founded in 1914 by a group of Protestant Americans from Wisconsin who sailed from American educator; were later popularly called Thomasites. It is the first elementary school in Solana and was originally named Solana Pilot Elementary School. It is situated at the heart of the town proper of the municipality of Solana. The first teachers were not Americans but were American-trained. Early account of our school say that there were two huts that stood just across the former residence of Mr. Ceferino Cepeda that served as classrooms and that an American flag was raised every morning.
There were few enrollees in its early years of operation. But because of the indescribable dedication of the teachers, the school population has increase. So its name was changed to Solana South Central School and this was successively headed by the following school managers:

The school has participated and won in different curricular and co-curricular competitions and produced successful pupils in their different fields of endeavor.
With these achievements, there was a need to enhance the skills and capabilities of the pupils. Hence, a Special Education Program(Fast Learners) was created in 1982 with 12 boys and 13 girls. The pioneer mentor of the SPED class was Ms. Dulce Lingan.
Through the years, it has been the goal of the school to develop the learners to the fullest potential. It has participated in all contests, be it physical or academic. It has been a consistent awardee in academic contests most especially in Mathematics. The school excels in Mathematics.
SSCS has organized its Headstart last school year 2013-2014 and this school year, it caters to children with Special Needs, completing its SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM.
