School History
The desire of the community to have a secondary school in their municipality became a reality when in the school year 1989-1990, the DECS Regional Office through the Regional Director granted a Municipal Resolution of the municipality of Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan requesting an establishment of a secondary school. The regional Director then directed the Claveria Rural and Vocational School located in the nearby municipality of Claveria, Cagayan to put up extension classes in the municipality of Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan. These extension classes were then administered and supervised in available classrooms at the Sta. Praxedes Central School.
The following year, Hon. Congressman Leoncio M. Puzon sponsored the passing of his House Bill No. 836 which finally in the year 1991 became Republic Act No. 7022, an act establishing the creation of Sta. Praxedes High School. Thus, this institution had evolved from the Claveria Rural and Vocational School-Extension Classes.
Sta. Praxedes High School is located in a peaceful municipality of Barangay Centro 1, Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan.
