Agcaoili, Tolentino evaluate SIS immersion program for Senior High School

Dr. Emelyne Agcaoili, Education Program Supervisor-Araling Panlipunan and Senior High School Focal Person vocally said her appreciation for Sicalao Integrated School for its readiness to implement the Work Immersion Program for Grade 12 Senior High School students as a requirement to complete the K-to-12 education curriculum for the School-Year 2020-2021.

“I am glad that even with a single teacher and the senior high school coordinator, they were able to present very well their documents for the work immersion,” said Dr. Merly Tolentino, Public Schools Supervisor who assisted the EPS in the evaluation of documents and papers.

The school principal, Juan C. Domingo expressed his gratitude to the two education leaders who selfishly shared their expertise for a better implementation of he said work immersion.

Meanwhile, the senior high school coordinator, Honey Val B. Garalde and the work immersion adviser, Marvin C. Ancheta were oriented on the process of giving tasks to the work immersion trainees until the presentation of their work immersion portfolio.

SIS staff undergo In-service training

As a call to address gaps in the education process in this New Normal because of the covid19 pandemic, teachers of Sicalao Integrated School attended a weeklong In-service Training on February 2021 for them to be oriented with the different modalities and teaching alternatives as face-to-face classes were being cancelled entire the country.

The staff underwent different trainings on the use of technology to reach learners and pursue teaching and learning even without meeting the learners in the school.

Some of the modalities were modular or home learning, video and radio-based instructions, and even online classes with the use of google meet and other virtual apps available to schools/areas that have internet connections.

Teachers were also equipped with the processes on how to evaluate and record learners’ performances to be able to compute grades of pupils and students.

The training gave the teachers ease and help them to cope with the challenge of the present fight the the Covid-19 pandemic.
