Public Schools District Supervisor - Siaton 4
Under the auspices of the different invaders, Philippine educational system keeps on changing. During the American Era, before the Philippines have been granted with its total independence, the opening of public schools was introduced. Due to the emergent need of education, Bonawon Elementary School was created and built in the year 1952 (Municipal Statistical Data) with complete grade levels (all mono grade) with school buildings made up of nipa and bamboo with a total land area of 0.662 square meters.
Four years later after its creation, World War II (1956) broke-up. The uncertainty of war conditions discouraged schooling. The people in the barangay totally destroyed the school buildings due to the fear of using the school buildings as the Japanese camp. The pronouncement of the war was over in 1957, it was then that the school buildings were re-built by the people in the barangay under the supervision of the assigned teachers. This was the year when mass promotion was experienced by everybody, jumping from one grade level to the next two or three grade levels. Succeeding year made to realized that it was necessary to create a District office to supervise more closely and to address the needs since it was the pronounced as one of the most populated area and was center for trading and marketing. It was then named Bonawon District Office with 28 schools as its member of the district umbrella.
About a decade after its founding year, Bonawon District was then closed due to the opening of the districts in the heart of Siaton and in barangay Maloh where it was located closely to Bonawon District.
In the year 2012, Mr. Salustiano T. Jimenez, Ll.B. was assigned as OIC-Schools Division Superintendent in the Division of Negros Oriental. Being the head of the division, he expanded the system by opening additional district offices in different municipalities for easy management, fast reporting of necessary documents and can cater most to the problem of each school concerned. So with the collaborative effort of the LGU and the Division personnel thru Dr. Dexter Aguilar the OIC-Assist Schools Division Superintendent it was re-opened and was named SIATON WEST DISTRICT 2 as annex of the mother district and was created January 03, 2013 with Mr. Antonio Baguio, Jr. as the designated District In-Charge having 10 elementary schools, 1 primary schools and 3 high schools for supervision. A year after creation, there was a re-assignment of district supervisors whom Dr. Heide E. Petras was assigned to be the second District In-Charge of the newly identified district SIATON WEST DISTRCIT 2. In the year 2017, it was renamed as SIATON 4 DISTRICT.
