HISTORY OF RICARDO P. CRUZ SR.ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The school started as primary school serving the small community of Lower Bicutan.
It began its operation last 1956 with its first two teachers, Mrs. Benerada Mariano and Mr. Ismael Marcelino. As the population of Lower Bicutan grew, the school became a complete elementary school.
From its previous name, Bicutan Elementary School, it is now know as Ricardo P. Cruz Sr. Elementary School in honor of the then Baragay Captain of Lower Bicutan, Ricardo P. Cruz Sr, popularly known as "Ka Ading", who spearheaded the move in asking the national government to award the military area to the residents f Brgy. Lower Bicutan including the lot area of the school.
The change in name was supported by a Municipal Resolution No. 137 series of 1992 sponsored by ABC Rep. Delio T. Santos
Over 54 years hence, the school has expanded into 11 buildings composed of 68 instructional classrooms, school centers and the principals office with 121 teachers and 18 non-teaching personnel, serving more than 5,000 pupils annually.
