Valenzuela City to Host the 2025 DepEd NCR Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT)

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of the City of Valenzuela is gearing up to host the much-anticipated 2025 Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT), organized by the Department of Education – National Capital Region (DepEd NCR). This prestigious event, scheduled to take place from February 20 to 22, 2025, will showcase the theme, “Galing, Talino at Husay ng mga Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng Makabagong Pilipinas.”

The RFOT is an annual event that highlights the diverse talents of learners from public and private schools across the NCR. It serves as a culminating activity for assessing students' mastery and skills in alignment with the Enhanced K to 12 Basic Education Program.

Goals of RFOT 2025

This festival provides learners with meaningful opportunities to

Showcase Acquired Knowledge – Students will demonstrate their expertise and abilities across various disciplines.
Explore Career Paths – The activities align with the four curriculum exits of K-12 education: higher education, middle-level skills development, entrepreneurship, and employment.
Develop Skills – Participants will be assessed based on competencies embedded in classroom teaching and learning processes.

Exciting Contest Categories

This year’s RFOT features a variety of contests designed to cater to learners' diverse interests and strengths. The activities include:

Technolympics: A platform for technology enthusiasts to exhibit their innovations and technical skills.
Sining Tanghalan: A showcase of theatrical and performing arts.
Histo-Pop: A celebration of history through creative presentations.
Read-a-thon (English and Filipino): A test of reading comprehension and fluency.
Lingo Star: A language-based competition promoting linguistic talent.
SNED Expo: Focused on Special Needs Education.
MUSABAQAH: A venue for showcasing Islamic values and culture.
STEMazing (AghaMazing and NumberRace) Highlighting excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

Participation Guidelines

Participation in RFOT 2025 is voluntary and open to learners who have emerged victorious in their respective Division Festival of Talents (DFOT). The event ensures that teachers’ time-on-task is not disrupted, as the learning standards and competencies are already part of their regular teaching processes.
